The main reason Dani doesnt want Tom to see Brooke is because she beleieves he could still take cocaine, and knows for a fact that was was an addict. even though i personally beleive he no longer takes the drug and he can provide us with proof for the documentory, i did some research on the long term effects of cocaine on http://www.cocaine-effects.com/. I found some infomation taht i found very relevant which would hughlight and sumarise Dani’s conserns.

“Long-tem cocaine effects are noticeable as cocaine abuse continues and tolerance builds. Since cocaine is a highly addictive drug, it can lead to major medical complications and health problems. Some of the these complications include heart disease, heart attacks, respiratory failure, strokes, seizures, and gastrointestinal problems. Other physical symptoms include convulsions, nausea, blurred vision, chest pain, fever, muscle spasms, and coma.

As the habit of using cocaine becomes increasingly important, behavior such as lying, heating, stealing, absenteeism at work and denying the use of cocaine, is an evident side effect. While these behaviors are not directly related to the use of cocaine, these cocaine effects are often present due to the lifestyle of the addict.

Other long-term cocaine effects include:

Auditory hallucinations
Mood disturbances”

All these things listed are trates most people would agree you wouldnt want around a child.

I want my documentory to have a Jeremy Kyle Show feel (appeal to the same audience), i want my peice to be a documentory rather than a chat show, and focused on a indivual case rather than having different stories. I watched this clip along with many others trying to work out what it is that makes these clips so entertaining and popular, and i think its because its “real life” and “real people” rather than drama. Same with reality tv, which is very popular at the moment.

The F4J “Blueprint For Family Law In The 21st Century Document” is available to all registered supporters of Fathers 4 Justice. The document outlines the core principles of a new framework for the family law industry and a proposed Bill of Rights for the Family.

The Blueprint provides a foundation upon which a truly fair, just, open and equitable system of family law can be based. A foundation of rights intertwined with responsibilities, built for the 21st Century that genuinely puts children first.

Fathers 4 Justice proposes three strategies to reduce conflict for children and their families in contact disputes and rebuild public confidence in the discredited family justice system:

Early Interventions & Mandatory Mediation
Before couples seek legal recourse, the government must recognise that ALL couples should be bound to enter into mandatory mediation, with appropriately trained mediators.

Presumption of Contact & Shared Parenting
The best parent is both parents. The starting point after separation should be to maintain where possible what the status quo was before separation. Children currently have no right in law to see their parents. The principle of shared parenting creates a level playing field where conflict can be reduced, as opposed to the current “winner takes all” scenario which generates maximum conflict.

Open Justice
The current family justice system has been publicly discredited by organisations such as Fathers 4 Justice. Only a fully open, transparent and accountable system of justice can restore public confidence. The various half-measures currently being floated by the government will only serve to fuel public unease and distrust of a secret system. There is not a shred of empirical evidence to support the claim that open justice could “damage” children. If the government is genuinely nervous of the consequences to children, why not submit open justice to a limited trial, and monitor the results?

Fathers 4 Justice believes these three core principles should be the foundation on which to build a new Bill of Rights For The Family as documented in our Blueprint, a legacy our children and their children’s children will enjoy free of the injustices of the old law.”

I want all these points to be used and put forward to Dani to answer in my documentory.

I want to produce a 20minute documentary about fathers rights focusing an individual case. It will feature interviews from both the mother and father their family and a care worker. It will be shot from both points of view, and will high contrast low key lighting to darken the mood, and make the interview shots more visually interesting.

The father (Tom) struggled with a cocaine addiction all last year however attended rehab when he found out his then girlfriend (Danielle) was pregnant.  However even though he has been sending her letter from his rehab officer to prove he is clean, Danielle has stopped him from seeing his baby girl Brooke. My documentary will look into both sides of the story and facts behind the rights they have.

At the moment programmes like “The Jeremy Kyle Show” based around real life issues are very popular and according to the mail online www.dailymail.co.uk he delivers viewing figures in excess of 1.5 million, dominates the morning slot across the channels and could churn out programmes until kingdom come. I want to give my show the Jeremy Kyle show feel, however focusing on an individual case throughout and from an unbiased view, different from The Jeremy Kyle Show.  I want to do some research on fathers rights and reality/real life documentaries to develop my idea.

Below is a picture of Dani Tom and Brooke, when Brooke was first born.

Tom has contacted his solicitor and a mediation meeting arrange, Dani has until the end of the month to reply or turn up, and if she doesn’t she will be summoned to court, which will only look better for Tom. Tom, as he will explain in the documentary, want Brooke every other weekend, to be fair to Dani and so he can earn as much as he can to support her. Tom has a history of cocaine use, that will be mentioned as tom tells his story, and he will explain his struggle to kick the habit.

Both Tom and Dani have given me permission to film, aswell as relevant members of their families, so theyre shouldnt be a problem. I want the interveiws to take place in their natural environments, which arfe family homes, to reunforce the “real life” effect im going for. I want everything to be 100%real i dont want anything to be exerated or set up. Filming at their homes means i allready have permission and it is definalty allowed and free of charge. They both will film for free aswell, which is good for my budget.

i want to edit my peice in Adobe Premier 6, because it is the editing software that im most comfortable using.

  • £500 BUDGET

I want to make a minute long documentary called “Lets Hear It” looking into the reasons why people are racist.  it will be a moving image documentary with high contrast low-key lighting to darken the mood to tie in with the content.

My documentary will be Short interview with a mixture of people of all ages and background is explaining why they are racist. i also want to include cut away  such as Sparkhill High Street which is a very asian area of Birmingham, to illustrate what people are saying. Instead of ignoring racism and pretending no one is racist when most people i know are  it stupid, and I think the only way to face the issue is by listening to what people have to say, my documentary will be interesting because no racist opinions are shown on television unless its comedy which makes my piece original.

For example a dominos pizza restaurant has open in my area (hall green).. only thing is, it serves nothing but halal meat! aswell as no pork. i and many others think this is a JOKE seen as we live in a non muslim country, and it is putting a minority over a majority of people taht dnt wana eat that meat. we are being put out to dr…ive to another branch. wouldnt mind perhaps a selection of halal meat to choose from, but as this is not a muslim country i think it is wrong to force it upon us. it is like newlook selling only traditrional asains clothes and nothing else. Subway is as bad. it is this sort of thing that stirs up racial hatred n the reason more n more people are voting BNP. when a simple selection of halal meat would have kept everyone happy. esp as it only for a small minority.
